Kim Granata-Clark
Hello. Our society is going from working in the office to working at home. Many people are working in awkward positions at home since we don’t have the same equipment that we used to have in the office. I am a Certified Applied Ergonomist (CAE) and received my certification as a Remote Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (REAS). I have a Masters Degree in Human Factors and Ergonomics and Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University.
I am your Posture Tutor. I have conducted Ergonomic evaluations as an Ergonomics specialist for close to 20 years in many Silicon Valley, CA companies and looking forward to serving Tampa, FL. I am seeing the need to provide Ergonomic services to the small business or home businesses within my community. I want to provide services to those that don’t have Ergonomic services from their company now that they are working from home. I love finding ways to reduce or prevent discomfort in client’s work area or be proactive and set up the workstation correct the first time. Sometimes it is as simple as putting a book under the monitor to raise the monitor height or taking the step to get a sit to stand workstation to vary your position during the day.
I have also done many Office and Back Safety Training classes for a variety of Silicon Valley, CA companies. These trainings give the user information on how to set up their workstation Ergonomically.
I was the meeting coordinator for the Bay Area Ergonomics Roundtable (BAER) in Silicon Valley, CA where I helped bring in speakers and vendors to talk to us about many subject matters and show the latest products. This benefited me because I can take the information and apply it in my evaluations or the products I recommend for my clients.
My plan for my business is to educate you about Ergonomics, evaluate you virtually or in person at your home or office workstation, recommend equipment, and follow-up with you in 30-60 days to make sure the equipment I recommended for you is working or see if you have any further questions. I want to reduce or prevent injury one person at a time.
On a personal note: I have been married for 24 years with a 8-year old daughter. I am/was a ballroom dancer and my husband and I ran a Ballroom Dance Ministry at our church in California. I used to teach Ballroom Dance classes at a couple community centers in my local area in California. I love to dance, I love to teach, and sometimes I talk about posture at your workstation like a dancing posture. Dancers do not slouch and we should not either.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
